JCW’s Longest Serving employee is set for retirement after  30 years’ service, whilst we are losing another to travel –

Long serving Accounts Supremo Susan Barlow has decided to retire this May. Whilst office assistant Sophie McArdle is also leaving to travel the world.

Susan’s decision to retire brings to a close her remarkable career of over 30 years’ continuous service to Managing Director, John Wilkins, across various companies. Since joining John some 30 years ago, Susan has established and overseen the accounting functions for several of John’s companies, eventually joining JCW Group in 1993, since where she has been a vital and much valued member of the team.

Susan’s hard work, dedication and focus have been an inspiration to all JCW employees. When Susan first started, there was a team of just four employees, compared to today’s workforce of ninety five!!

JCW Group HQ will be a much emptier (and hungrier) place without Susan, virtually a second home where she has kept the team fed with her fabulous homemade cakes, brought in on a weekly basis. It is to be hoped that the JCW Accounts team will pick up the baton and continue working (and baking) to her extremely high standards.

Sophie who has been with the company for 3 years will be leaving to travel around the globe, starting with a summer in Ibiza!

The company held a lunchtime celebration on Friday 27^th May, to present Susan and Sophie with their parting gifts.

MD John Wilkins added “On behalf of the company, and myself personally, I wish Susan a happy and healthy retirement. All the best Susan, and thank you for 30 years of continuous hard work. The company would also like to wish good luck to Sophie on her adventure and thank her for her endeavor.”
